Birthdays Are Both Awesome And Sucky

You've guessed it.

November 20th, 2003 - the day I was pushed out into the world by my mom and entered the real world.

I'm fourteen now.

yaaaay...........................................?

Honestly, I've never understood what the big deal of a birthday is. I mean, it's not like you remembered anything about being born. In fact, shouldn't it be the mother who's congratulated? She's the one who did the actual painful work, so it seems to be appropriate to me.

I guess the reason people don't do that is because then only girls would have birthdays but then the guys would have to just be the suckers.

'Cause they can't give birth.

...

SUCKS TO BE THEM (jk)

Aaaaanyways, you know what the sucky thing about birthdays are? It's the only other day besides Christmas (if you celebrate Christmas, that is) where you get free gifts. The problem. I NEVER actually remember what that thing is.

All throughout the year, I might be like, "I need a kindle", or "I must have a telescope", or "I really need this one book".

Of course, my parents are just like, "Ask again on your birthday"

And when my birthday struts along, I forget everything I wanted throughout the year and instead spend ten hours scrolling through Amazon for something I want.

What does my oh so wise brain tell me in the end?

"Get the sequel of that book you've never even heard of. It'll be good."

And that's exactly what I get.

Does anyone else in the world have these problems? Or is it just me?

Anyways, my mom asks what I want today, and by now I've pretty much given up. So what do I say?

"I have everything I need, so there's really nothing I want."

I realize this sounds selfless. But believe me, there are NO selfless intentions behind it.

The things I do want are way out of my hand, so what's the point of asking?

My List (and why I can't have it):

  • A Cat (it's a cat, and it's expensive to take care of, it poops, and you can't travel)
  • A Dog (same as cat)
  • A Telescope (I live in Southern California - the only stars i see are in Hollywood. Besides, too much light pollution)
  • A kindle (Why even bother? They hurt my eyes. I like books)
  • A new bike, 'cause the one I have is slow (actually it isn't, it's just I'm too lazy to pump up the tires, and sorta out of shape in general)
  • A cat (they're awesome, but hard to take care of)
  • A party (On a Monday. When my parents are working.)
  • My crush (you really think I'm gonna tell my parents that?)
  • A 3DS (My parents would by it for me only if i was an eight year old boy)
  • A New Phone (I'm too attached to the phone I have)
  • A cat (Did I mention that?)
Yeah...that should clear things up pretty quickly.

So this entire day is sorta just passing like another regular day. Oh yeah, and did I mention I got a shot today? A Happy Birthday vaccine. What else could a girl ask for?

Anyways, I hope you, reader, will be able to enjoy the rest of your day. Hey, Thanksgiving's coming soon - get ready for a juicy turkey (or a tofurkey if you're vegetarian or vegan).

Have a great Thanksgiving break everyone!

(unless of course you have work or something...then Happy Monday to you guys!)
